WE ARE MAKING THE JUSTICE SYSTEM MODERN AND EFFICIENT: NATALYA SEVOSYANOVA

05.06.2015

We reform the justice system and we are making it modern and effective. That is why, the Ministry of Justice’s management travels all over Ukraine with Personnel commissions. Moreover, the Minister will personally visit region without prior notice in order to see firsthand how the system works. We must show our working efficiency and directly communicate with citizens, because citizens are the ones, who we are working for”, - stated the First Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Natalya Sevostyanova during a press-conference in Cherkassy.

She emphasized that it is extremely important to popularize online services, introduced by the Ministry, among citizens. You can acquire excerpts, extracts and certificates from the departmental website within 5 minutes. Until now, citizens had to stand in large queues at registration services to get documents they need.

“Online services are affordable and effective. After the adoption of new bills there will be even more online services. People will be able not only to get documents from the database, but also to file them in electronic form, register businesses and they can forget about standing in queues”, - stated the First Deputy Minister.

Natalya Sevostyanova pointed out: “We plan to finish reforming registration and enforcement of judgments institutions by mid-summer in order to start private enforcement officers’ trainings by fall, because we all understand that they won’t appear in a single day. Unfortunately, nowadays judgments aren’t being enforced effectively. They are being passed to the European Court of Human Rights and are returned to us with a demand to enforce this judgment and additionally to pay these persons compensation because the decision hasn’t been enforced on time. That is why it is our immediate task to ensure enforcement of judgments, because otherwise there are losses to the state budget”.

First Deputy Minister of Justice expressed hope that the reform will be implemented effectively.

Natalya Sevostyanova has also held interviews with chief officials of regional justice departments (heads of registration services and state enforcement services’ departments, as well as with heads of regional justice departments) during the meeting of the Main territorial justice department in Cherkassy region Personnel commission.
