The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine launched an updated corruption register, which allows you to search for information with the help of considerably expanded numbers of search criteria. Such statement has been made during a press-conference at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine by the First Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Natalya Sevostyanova.
“The register, which currently contains information about 9,5 thousand individuals, had been working before. But journalists and public representatives complained that these registers are technologically imperfect and as for the information – very complicated to find it. We have improved the register by adding additional search criteria”, - stated the First Deputy Minister of Justice.
She pointed out that previously searching for information was possible only by surnames, names and patronymic of the person, who had committed corruption offense. In case the user had no information on the surname or made at least one error while inputting data, then the search gave no results.
«Нині можна отримати інформацію за такими показниками як прізвище, ім'я та по-батькові особи, що вчинила корупційний злочин, дата та номер відповідного судового рішення, сфера державної політики, дата та номер наказу про накладення дисциплінарного стягнення, вид відповідальності. Крім того, здійснити пошук можна за статтею кодексу. Окремо ми додали поле для текстового пошуку за ключовими словами. За результатом пошуку надаватиметься розширена інформація», - повідомила Наталія Севостьянова.
“Now you can get information using indicators such as surname, name and patronymic of the person, who had committed corruption offense, date and number of the appropriate court decision, state policy sector, date and number of the order on imposing a disciplinary sanction, type of liability. Apart from that, the search is possible by inputting the Code article. Additionally we have added a searching box, where you can look for information using keywords. Expanded information would be provided according to the search results”, - stated Natalya Sevostyanova.
She also stated that every day citizens will be able to download a file, which contains information on individuals, who had been recently added to the register.
“You won’t have to search through all 9500. Thanks to this file you will be able to see, who had been recently added to the register by a court decision, and to monitor the effectiveness of combating against corruption offenses”, - emphasized the First Deputy Minister of Justice.
She drew particular attention to the fact that access to this information will be open 24 hours a day at http://corrupt.test.informjust.ua/ (Ukrainian version) or via the link on the Ministry of Justice official website, and using the register is free of charge. In his turn, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Gia Getsadze encouraged citizens to actively use the new service.
“Particularly, this information may be interesting to public organizations and journalists. It will be easy to use for the new Anti-Corruption agency. Apart from that, citizens, who start their career in the public service, won’t have to run around for an appropriate certificate. The employer can find all necessary information in the register by him/herself”, - emphasized Gia Getsadze.
Register performance, as well as searching possibilities by various parameters have been shown to journalists during the press-conference.
