Within the framework of a working visit to Israel, Ukrainian delegation, consisting of Government members and MPs, met the Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein. It is necessary to emphasize that for the first time in Ukraine-Israeli relation history such number of legislative and executive branches of power representatives have been delegated to Israel. The meeting was in a form of a dialogue, during which Ukrainian side expressed gratitude for a warm welcome and hope for further deepening of relations between the two counties.
During the meeting, Pavlo Petrenko said that “Ukrainian and Israeli people have a lot in common. Both our nations fought for freedom and democracy. We have proven that dignity is stronger than any weapon or military aggression”. The Minister wished out people peace and victory.
The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Hanna Onishchenko stressed that there are more than 500 thousand immigrants from Ukraine living in Israel, and we feel their support.
Additionally, the Minister of Justice expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the Kesset for providing humanitarian aid to our country, namely – allocation of funds for the treatment of Ukrainian citizens, who suffered during the Revolution of Dignity and soldiers, wounded in the ATO area. 25 Ukrainian citizens received medical treatment in Israeli hospitals.
Apart from that, Hanna Onishchenko told about assistance, provided by the Jewish community in Ukraine to displaced citizens from Eastern Ukraine. The Jewish community initiated the construction of “Anatevka” – a small town to help people with accommodation and employment issues. Project’s main idea is to adapt forcefully displaced citizens on a new location. This town will have living space enough for more than 500 people to live there. Additionally it will have its own school, kindergarten and a rehabilitation center.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vladyslava Rutytska, who is also a part of the Ukrainian delegation to Israel, stated that Ukraine is Israel’s strategic partner in food security sector. More than 50% of all flour products, consumed in Israel, are made of Ukrainian grain.
“Ukraine, as one of the leaders in food production, will always support friendly people of Israel”, - summarized Vladyslava Rutytska.
